    Corporate Vice President of Operations/Manufacturing
Responsible for totally revamping the manufacturing operations of all AlliedSignal business units worldwide. Responsible for product cost, productivity, quality, plant structure, capital, manufacturing systems, engineering support and training, and new business acquisition requirements.
Major accomplishments include:
• Upgraded sector and business unit operating staff (hired over 300 new operations individuals in    nine months);
• Designed and implemented an “Operational Excellence” capability which is resulting in $898    million (net) of savings/cost reduction each year for the next two (2) years using Six Sigma    methodology;
• Trained 650 yearly Process Improvement Masters to focus on operational improvements;
• Established a three (3) year operations strategy; format, template and plan;
• Established an ongoing training curriculum for manufacturing and design engineers;
• Established specific goals and metrics for all products manufactured in terms of cost, quality,    margin, and delivery;

Responsible for designing and implementing a worldwide Quality system including cycle time and supply management capabilities. This system was implemented at over 100 various business units worldwide. Responsible for all operations and improvements and action including areas such as rationalization, material planning, product cost improvement, and CAD/CAM/CIM implementation. Codex was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Motorola with $500+ million in worldwide sales. Codex is a world leader in communications for both voice and data communications systems.
Vice President and General Manager Customer Service, Corporate Quality, and Corporate Government Compliance
Implemented a complete Total Quality program which resulted in several quality awards. Through implementing numerous operational improvements, I was appointed the Vice President and General Manager of the Service organization. The primary focus was to restructure the $50+ million profit center by restructuring and expanding the service offerings. I was also responsible for Government Compliance and implementing systems for multi-million dollar government contracts. My major accomplishments at Motorola include the following:
• Created and implemented a complete Total Quality System by establishing strong focuses on    Reliability, Software Quality, and Total Customer Satisfaction systems;
• Achieved over a three-fold Product Reliability improvement;
• Achieved 98% improvement in Product and Field Quality with a 58% reduction in Cost of Poor    Quality for an annualized savings of $25 million;
• Implemented a comprehensive Manufacturing Statistical Quality Process that resulted in having    over 21 specific manufacturing processes at “0” PPM defective, with overall Manufacturing    Quality at 60 PPM;
• Implemented a facilities utilization plan that resulted in $7.2 million net savings annually plus a cost reduction plan that resulted in $11 million net savings annually;
OPERATIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Designed and implemented a complete CIEM and Enterprise Integration Plan for the corporation.    Put in established operational benchmarks for all facets of the corporation;
• Responsible for implementing a complete Total Quality Cycle Time process for Design and    Development process and Make/Market process. The cycle time program resulted in a 60%    reduction in Product Design Time and 43% in Manufacturing cycle time;
• Implemented a complete Automated Sales Order Entry System using Perot Systems as a    contractor ($10 million project);
• Assumed responsibility for all Government Compliance;
• Assumed responsibility for administrating the complete Sales Order Process which resulted in    reduced cycle time to one (1) day with “0” rejects.

    A New York based big eight (8) consulting firm with a complete line of professional financial and management consulting practices.
Director of Operational and Total Quality Consulting Practices
Designed and implemented a new practice to serve clients with leading edge Total Quality Control and Just-in-Time systems. This new practice resulted in a $2 million business in six (6) months. The major accomplishments were:
• Designed a complete practice to sell services in Quality and Operational improvements;
• Hired a consulting staff of 83 experienced professionals;
• Designed and implemented a Marketing strategy which resulted in 27 client engagements in six    (6) months;
• Averaged 10% to 25% cost reductions and significant Quality improvements for all clients;
• Designed a Manufacturing Technology Center that is now a $5 million profit center.
       
1982 to 1985   Harris Graphics Corporation Melbourne, FL
    Harris Graphics is a $630 million company which designs and builds complete multicolor graphic printing and mailing systems. Harris Graphics was a sector of Harris Corporation which was spun off through a LBO in 1983.
Corporate Director Productivity and Quality
As the Corporate Director, I had responsibility for implementing a worldwide Total Quality System at sixteen (16) Domestic and five (5) International locations. In addition, I analyzed all operational aspects for each operating unit and implemented productivity improvements, including Corporate consolidation and building a complete lights out FMS facility. My accomplishments at Harris included:
• Reducing Corporate Quality costs from 13% to 5% of Sales through comprehensive Corporate    Quality Program;
• Implemented Just-in-Time, Statistical Process Controls, and Vendor Certification programs at    all locations;
• One of three (3) person team in designing a complete FMS facility with on-line data entry and    analysis which reduced operating costs $34 million annually;
• Responsible for purchasing $7.5 million in automated inspection systems including Vision    Systems for part analysis;
• Assisted in plant startups in business ventures in Japan, China, and Mexico.

    Divisional Quality Assurance Manager
• Implemented a Total Quality System at five (5) facilities which resulted in improving outgoing    Quality by 60% and reducing Field Warranty costs by $1 million annually;

    Pittsburgh Forgings was a metals forging and machining operation with sales of $300 million. Primary products were nuclear values and cylinders for nuclear power plants in the commercial market and Navy submarines.
Assistant Quality Manager
As the Assistant Quality Manager, I recertified the facility to meet all of the Government Nuclear Compliance requirements while the Quality Manager was on long-term disability.

This GM facility manufactured all trim and federal motor vehicle safety standard items.

As the Quality Engineer, I was responsible for 3,000 various manufactured parts for all GM assembly plants.
